‘… I made it out of wood.’

 
 
 

It seemed only fitting to create a dreidel this Hanukkah season. I used our new favorite combination of brass and walnut. A quarter inch brass rod flows through the central axis of the spinning top, creating the handle to spin the driedel. The Hebrew letter Nun, Gimmel, Hay, and Shin were carved then burned for contrast. The letter carving, as well as the material used, is what really ties this piece in with the rest of our Judaica Collection. I learned a good bit while creating this holiday toy and have a few design changes to make before offering this dreidel in our shop.
