Challah Board Care Instructions

There’s a reason why wood is an ancient material. It lasts. Your challah board is designed to be used for more than a lifetime; we hope it becomes part of your family’s story.

A couple of tips: When cleaning, hand wash with a soft sponge/brush and lay upright to dry. If you ever want to give the wood grain a shine, oil it with butcher block conditioner, beeswax, or any other food-safe wood treatment. If you cut (rather than tear) your challah, you’ll see scratches on the board. You can think of each line as a story. After some time, you could always sand the board lightly with a high grit and re-oil to refresh. That’s the beauty of wood. Feel free to reach out to windthrowteam@gmail.com with any questions.

Enjoy the many Shabbats to come,
